I think at one point she got tongue-tied and tripped over the word, accidentally pronouncing it correctly.

It was funny in a non-funny sort of way. =0

People love to make fun of this, but it is because of a regional dialect. Listen to how friends from eastern PA say the word water some time - it comes out 'wuder'.
